my approach
It can be difficult to know which approach is right for you when looking for a counsellor or considering counselling. I'd like to provide you with some information about me and the approach I take, to help you decide.
It is important to me that I am the right fit, so please do not hesitate to get in contact for a free initial chat (by phone or email).

I live in Edinburgh and my professional life has included community work, yoga teaching and counselling and relationship is always central in my work. I enjoy being in connection with others.

The model of counselling I practice is called Transactional Analysis (TA). It provides a useful way of making meaning of how past experiences shape and affect us in the present. I can tell you more about this as we work together if you’re interested.
I recognise that we are shaped and affected by the circumstances, culture and society we are brought up in and I am committed to developing both a relationship and a space that values and accepts each individual. One of my aims, with every person I work with, is to develop the capacity to flourish and thrive. We deserve nothing less.
I have specific experience of working with groups and individuals from the LGBTQ+ and Neurodivergent Communities. The areas of work I am interested in are sexuality, gender, relationship styles, queer identity, neurodivergence - especially later life diagnosis, how we live in the world ecologically.
I support and resource my work through adherence to ethics, regular supervision and continuing professional development.
